As an affiliate of the Lifesaving Society, GTA Swim Academy levels 1-2 offers an instructional program for children aged 5 years and older, starting with the Lifesaving Society Swimmer Program. We emphasize plenty of in-water practice to develop strong swimming strokes and skills and incorporate the Lifesaving Society's Water Smart® education across all levels, making our swimming classes for beginners both effective and engaging.
In the GTA Swim Academy levels 1-2, these beginners will become comfortable jumping into water with and without a lifejacket as part of the Lifesaving Society Swimmer Program. They'll learn to open their eyes, exhale, and hold their breath underwater while participating in swimming classes for beginners. They will work on floats, glides, and kicking through the water on their front and back.
In the GTA Swim Academy levels 1-2, these advanced beginners will dive into deeper water, becoming comfortable with safely falling sideways into the water while wearing a lifejacket. They will learn to support themselves at the surface without assistance, master the whip kick, and swim 10 meters on both their front and back. Additionally, they'll be introduced to flutter kick interval training (4 x 5 m) as part of their journey in the Lifesaving Society Swimmer Program through engaging swimming classes for beginners.
